Isaiah is nine months old today which means he has been out of my belly for 40 weeks. The same amount of time that he was in my belly. A friend of mine reflected about this on her blog a few months ago and I'm glad she did because I'm not sure I would have given this a second thought otherwise.
It's interesting to think back. Which set of 40 weeks went by faster? Has Isaiah changed more in his second set then in his first? Which was more exciting? Of course none of these questions really have answers. It does seem like the last 40 weeks have flown by but it also seems like ages ago that my belly was filled with a baby. Isaiah's changes are significant no matter when you look. In the first 40 he went from a cell to a baby. He grew from a seed, to a bean, to a watermelon. The changes in the second 40 are much more apparent because we get to see it every day, in the way he stands, feeds himself and discovers new things. And it's all been exciting! The first 40 were filled with anticipation and fear of what's coming. The second 40 are filled with an overwhelming love and joy that you never expected.
Love the reflection, and especialy all the photos of Isaiah! Looks like somebody is getting ready for his first Halloween :)
